Tracts That Travel

A tribal woman and child in the

interior of India.
Today's services were wonderful. God blessed and hearts were touched.  Especially mine.

In the first service this morning, I preached about Daniel and his three companions. I focused upon the need and the importance of prayer. I could tell there were many present who needed to hear the message.

But after the service when people came forward for special prayer, three individuals stood and waited for their opportunity. One man took care of camels in Saudi Arabia. The next man worked for a company in Kuwait. The woman took care of an elderly woman in Israel. They wanted prayer because they are returning to these jobs soon and they are taking as many of the tracts with them as they can. It's so exciting to meet the actual men and women who are transporting the Gospel message in their suitcases as they travel to some places that I'll probably never be able to go. Please pray for them.

There are several more that I will probably never meet.  Two of them have taken the tracts into Oman and Bahrain.  It amazes me how God has arranged to carry His Word in something as lowly as a suitcase.  But people scattered around the entire region of Asia and the Middle East are receiving the word in great numbers.

The local believers have carefully (and neatly, might I add!!!) compiled lists of thousands of phone calls received from people who read the tracts and called for more information. I almost panicked when my contact pastor told me he had printed his personal phone number on the 1.7 million tracts that are now available. But, thank the Lord for technology in India, we have found a way to supply other phone numbers to which calls can be diverted by the phone company. Also, a rubber stamp is made for each local church or pastor that helps to pass out the literature. They stamp their local number on the tracts and end up receiving most of the calls from their local area. All other calls that reach the main number are diverted to dozens of other people who can answer and record the questions and requests that are shared. It is a system that seems to be working quite well. No wonder the western world has handed technology service calls over to India!

Next week I will have the opportunity to travel to our neighboring state where God has done marvelous things. I'll be training and strengthening the hearts of many tribal pastors. Also, I will have the privilege of delivering bicycles to extremely poor pastors who are visiting and shepherding hundreds of new converts. It is also there that I'll be able to give 6 new tents to small congregations that have begun as a result of the tract distribution!

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your recent response to the requests for bicycles and tents in particular.  Because of your donations, we'll be able to give even more of these items out than we had hoped. Also, money was donated for Bibles and literature.  The Bibles in particular were sorely needed.  Now we'll be able to purchase 1,000 Bibles and put them into the hands of people who start their Christian journey!  Praise the Lord!

If you would like to be a part of this special project, we're still needing more tracts and Bibles.  At this time, unless greater need arises, we have enough for the bicycles and tents requested. Again, thank you! Please note that a surplus in any category will be used toward the other needs listed in the request.

We appreciate your prayers as ministry continues in India. May God bless and keep you in His grace.
