Ramadan 2016 Comes to an End

I wish to thank those who joined with us in the Prayer Focus on Ramadan 2016.  It was a rewarding time as God both blessed with opportunities to reach Muslims and also it was a time of humbling as our hearts were opened a bit more to grasp the magnitude of the challenge that lays before us.  May God encourage and convict us all to do more for the salvation of lost souls among Muslims.

Tuesday, the day upon which Ramadan 2016 actually ends, is supposed to be the day that all citizens of Saudi Arabia in particular endeavor to sight the crescent moon.  But, no one did.  Therefore, the courts have to decide the matter and they chose to end Ramadan.  Now, Wednesday, will be the first day of Eid-ul-fitr.  This is the beginning of three days celebrating the end of Ramadan.

Muhammad once said, "When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained up."  How quaint an idea that Satan might obey some silly rules of a calendar and cease his activities for a month!  Actually, the truth of the matter is, Ramadan almost always sees a steep increase in terror acts (as we did this year).  This is because Muslims are in such a religious fervor and they think this is the time of year they can actually hope to "draw close" to Allah.  So, in an effort to please him, they commit more daring and violent acts than normal.

This darkness can only be penetrated through the grace and mercy of God by means of the Holy Spirit.  This is why prayer must be our key weapon in the spiritual warfare between Light and Darkness.  Without earnest prayer, truth will never penetrate the kingdom walls Satan has built.  We need to pray without ceasing.

For this reason, I ask you not to end your prayer focus upon Muslims.  But rather, let it only grow stronger.  I believe God is faithful to answer the prayers of His people when we humble our hearts and cry aloud.

God bless you!
