Good News from a Far (and Near!) Country

I want to report the goodness of God!  The media is always filled with reports of the wickedness and ugliness of the world around us.  But, praise the Lord, Jesus is alive and well!  Praise His wonderful name for the promise that He never will leave us alone.

My Spanish-speaking lungs have gotten a workout recently both at home in America and abroad.  We just returned from an important visit to the church in Panama.  God blessed in many ways and we praise Him for the good that was accomplished.

The children greatly enjoyed the
ministry and special attention
shown to them by the team!
A team accompanied us to Panama to help in ministry there and to catch up on some long-needed repairs and maintenance to the mission station.  God blessed and the team was able to do children's work, ministry in services every night and LOTS of work!  I'm grateful to each who was a part of this effort.  God held the rain off for the biggest part of the trip which allowed us to paint the exterior of the mission house.

There was a response in the altars several nights and people were seeking God for His strength, encouragement and help.  The church in Panama has struggled in the last few years but a small core has continued to press forward in their walk with the Lord.  It is encouraging to see this in the face of such great adversity.  Please pray for God to strengthen and revive His work in a mighty way

Just today I had the privilege of preaching at a Spanish-speaking church here in the USA!  It's been a few years since I've done that here in America.  It is always good to preach, but, especially when I get to preach in Spanish!  I miss the rhythm  and flow of Spanish.  Thank God for this opportunity to see men and women worship the Lord and enter into the service with such excitement and joy.

Soon my wife and I will be returning to India.  We're thrilled to be able to take a group that will focus upon special ministry to children.  This is something that has always been close to our hearts.  It reminds me of the years spent in Venezuela and all that God did there starting with only little children on the side of the road.  Ministry to children is so vitally important everywhere, but particularly in India.  Please pray that God will anoint each one in the group and give us His power as we minister.  We're getting to do much of this special ministry in an area that has only opened up to us in the last year or so.  I'm looking forward to how God will use this to impact the hearts of many.

May we share a list of prayer requests with you?  Please join us in prayer before the Lord for these needs:

1.  No matter how often it is repeated, it's still desperately true:  1.2 billion Indians are in desperate need of Christ.  The nation needs a vast, sweeping revival that will penetrate to the depths of the human hearts.

2.  Our group will be extremely busy and mobile this time.  We'll be traveling through lots of cities and villages and are asking God for protection from danger, sickness and spiritual attack.

3.  Pray for God to awaken the hearts of Pastors who will serve Him with all their heart and soul.  India is no different than most places -- Satan has figured out how to lull men to sleep and make them ineffective and weak.

4.  Pray for Holy Ghost anointing to teach the people the Biblical mandate of holiness and purity in their daily life and walk with God.  Nominal churches are everywhere and the spirit of nominal, empty "christianity" is overwhelming in so many places.  Pray that God will shake the church until she arises and casts off the foolishness of a worldly, carnal life and dedicates herself to a life of sanctification.

Thank you.  We're counting on you to hold us up before God in prayer!
